The Prophet Joel tells us seek God, to return to Him, to rend or tear our heart into pieces. Joel 2:12-13 Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping, and mourning; 13 And rend your heart and not merely your garments.” Now return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in mercy And relenting of catastrophe.

When we realize our sin in the light of Gods word and the conviction of the Holy Spirit we are moved as David was when David had finally been confronted of his sin in Psalm 51: 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners will be converted to You.

David, when he was confronted with his sin cried out to God and asked God to do the cleansing, David asked God to renew the steadfast spirit in him. David asked God to not cast him away from Gods presence.

Revival is getting to a place where you know God is the only one who can revive. We get to a place where we want, need God and His presence in our lives more than our sin, more than our selfish desires. Then we humble ourselves and ask God to do the cleansing. To forgive us and draw us close to Him.

We first started out we had Sunday service only, now we have activity at the church on Wednesday Bible study, Thursday night worship preparation and Saturday morning women’s Bible study. It’s not about the activity but what God is doing in the hearts of His people that is causing the activity. God is doing a work in His people here at MT Pleasant Bible Church.
